Hey Steel Mags fans. It's been FOREVA since I posted here, so i have a doozy for ya !
This card is for a couple of co-workers, who just went back home to India to get married. They have since returned & I was asked by staff to make a wedding card to go with the gift we are giving.
This is the result & I am very pleased with it.
I tried to get the skin tone darker than norm for obvious reasons. I also tried to match the shirt color to the one he wore at the wedding as well.
The paper is from Dollarama & the pink heart doily is from Bizzy Becs.
The 3D butterflies were a b-day gift from Trisha & the LARGE beige lace along the bottom is from Lori. Another birthday gift. The beige raffia along the side, as well as the pink rosebud ribbon is a gift from Suzi (a fellow fairy).
One would think wedding & think flowers, right? Where r my flowers? Well to be perfectly honest with you, if there's one thing I've realized about myself, it's that I am not a flower girl, AT ALL! I tend to go for the OTHER embellies before flowers. I KNOW, call me crazy!
The white & gold butterfly on the stem with leaves is a Micheals purchase that was onsale! OMG I LOVE IT so much. I used the rest of the pack on a project to be seen at a later date! I added gold glitter to the edges of the papers on the front .
************************************
Now. I dont usually complete both sides of the inside but needed one side to be free for all our signatures, so I thought, Ah to heck with it, finish it off already! I added a bit of gold bling to areas of the lace heart doily on the inside as well.
I would like to enter my card into the following Challenges: Magnolia-licious Highlites blog- Wedding project (how kawinkidink right?), Magnolia Down Under- fav . things (ribbons, bling, embellies), Magnolia Stamp Lovers- congrats (obviously this is a congrats on your marriage card), Bunny Zoes Monthly challenge & Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar- make it lacy (lace ribbon, raffia lace, lace doilies) & Sketchy Colors- sketch (see below)- I ADORE this sketch.

Wow! So beautiful! Love how you colored it, and love all the little details and embellies. I'm not a flower girl either, so I find it difficult to create cards that are fussy. I'm a clean and simple kinda girl. But, I do love looking at everyone's cards that have lots of flowers! I just can't seem to get it right on my own cards!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. The butterflies add so much to your design. Great work!
